Responsibilities
The Associate Solution Engineer role is responsible for the support of client’s enterprise solutions. The Associate Solution Engineer will act as a technical support engineer for assigned clients and field initial support requests. In addition, the role will work escalations from customer’s and other Managed Service Engineers.
Scope of Role Responsibilities
Essential, key job responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Support for client’s enterprise solutions.
- Technical support engineer for assigned clients and field initial support requests.
- Responsible for work escalations from customer’s and other Managed Service Engineers.
- Work with and develop expertise in many enterprise data infrastructure products from the following vendors: Cisco, Microsoft, NetApp, VMware, and EMC.
- Assist senior level engineers with projects and initiatives for customers.
- Assistance in configuring, installing, troubleshooting and repairing offerings technical solutions for our customers.
- Interact with clients to resolve any issues before, during, or after service engagements.
Additional job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Interact with clients to resolve any issues before, during, or after service engagements.
- Schedule on-site visits when necessary in accordance with the customer contract.
- Provide end user support to customers on an as needed basis.
- Ensures that computer and network operations are monitored at the property, backup/recovery functions are performed on scheduled basis and administration functions for hardware, operating and application systems are maintained and completed on consistent basis.
- Datacenter maintenance; racking/cabling new equipment.
- After hours/weekend trouble escalations and scheduled work when needed.
- Complete and accurate time entry on a weekly basis.
- Provide continued input to management regarding new ideas and concepts to improve overall quality of service to our clients and partners.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Role Qualifications and Requirements
The following are minimum qualifications and requirements required for this role:
- 2-4 Years of experience working in an enterprise level IT environment.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong communications skills and the ability to multitask are essential.
- Comfortable, poised, and affable with customers from end users to senior level executives.
- Candidates must have strong interpersonal as well as analytical troubleshooting skills.
- Must be able to effectively work in a team environment.
- Schedule on-site visits when necessary in accordance with the customer contract.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must supply reliable cell phone. Cell phone costs may be reimbursed.
The following qualifications are ideal, but not required:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least one major vendor certification (Microsoft MCSE, MCITP, CCDA, CCNP, CCIE, CCNA, VCP, Citrix CCEA, etc.).
