Summary
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Glovis America will oversee all operations and service developments for Finished Vehicle (FV) customers and lead capacity improvements and effectiveness of its operations.
The COO will be accountable for the management and improvement of critical functions of the business, including the formulation and execution of company-wide business strategies, sales, development projects, and procurement.
Responsibilities
- Primary Oversee Vehicle Logistics, Port and VPC Processing Operations, and Operations Support and ensure contract compliance with current customers Oversee the Corporate Planning department to ensure the execution of company-wide business objectives and key tasks Participate in corporate engagements for internal and external affairs as a member of the executive team Make recommendations and lead efforts to improve the overall profitability of the company based on established targets for cost initiatives Propose recommendations to drive profit improvement and process improvement Participate in TFT's for preparing new services capability Negotiate rates with current customers, vendors and suppliers to secure advantageous terms Manage all projects related to vehicle logistics and port processing, including new business Secure transportation capacity Finalize contract terms Support budget forecast for business plan as needed Establish processes and procedures for business continuity Play an integral role in the growth and development of leadership team and key talent within the groups
- Secondary Make recommendations for organizational development of the Logistics Business Group Support corporate policies for reporting and meeting engagement Support corporate policies for staff development in support of HR Participate in claims and billing support Nurture relationships with suppliers Build rapport with potential suppliers Develop key relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business Other duties may arise, including adding new business areas to areas of responsibilities if needed
- Tertiary Represent Glovis at Industry events or in similar representation opportunities

Education & Experience
- Bachelors Degree Required Masters Degree Preferred
- 10 - 15 Years of Experience in Logistics, Transportation, etc. Required 13 - 18 Years of Experience Vehicle Logistics, Vehicle Processing, and / or Business Strategy Preferred
- 7 - 10+ Years of Managerial Experience in Related Fields Required
- Operations and Safety Training Required
- Kaizen and Six-Sigma Preferred
- Driver License Required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Preferred
