Description of Skills & Responsibilities :

The Business Analyst provides day-to-day management for various IT Applications. This role will provide support for analysis, implementation, testing and configuration for core applications.

This role will be focused on liaising between the business and development teams with the definition of requirements / user stories, documenting test plans and test cases, identifying acceptance criteria or definition of done, and supporting testing and deployment.

The ability to execute SQL and perform data analysis is highly desired. Provide operational expertise on process re-engineering initiatives and projects.

Work with various internal business partners to understand and design system solutions. Local candidates with the ability to commute to Lansing, MI offices for a hybrid only.

Other job requirements would include the following :

50% Project Delivery and System Analysis Provide operational expertise on process re-engineering initiatives and projects with third party vendors.

Partner with various affiliates to understand, document, and design system solutions that provide straight through processing.

Ensure application configuration integrates with new processes and system interface designs that are part of enterprise initiatives.

Participate as a system SME in project related meetings. Responsible for documenting, tracking and reporting on all outstanding vendor issues Identify trends and patterns of outstanding issues, reporting to the vendor and / or various teams as necessary.

Responsibilities :

• Performs special projects and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
• Lead requirements gathering process by interacting with stakeholders to understand. their needs, translating them into tangible requirements and design documents.
• Perform analysis of business processes, systems, data structures, and flows, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Design and develop business intelligence models, dashboards, and reports to support decision-making.
• Utilize data analysis techniques to transform raw data into meaningful and actionable insights.
• Visualize data through a variety of methods, including but not limited to data visualization tools, heat maps, and infographics.
• Develop process maps to document current and / or desired business processes.
• Create operational and financial models to forecast outcomes and optimize processes.
• Design technical solutions to meet business requirements.
• Produce written reports to provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Deliver presentations to stakeholders to showcase findings and recommend solutions.
• Provide project management support to ensure successful implementation of solutions.
• Leverage problem-solving skills to break down complex issues and develop effective solutions.
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders throughout all stages of the project.
• Develop technical writing deliverables, such as requirements documents, technical specifications, user manuals, etc.

Requirements

Required Experience / Skills :

• Strong knowledge of system development life cycle concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of business and system workflow documentation methods.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Business analysis, Agile, Requirements gathering, excel pivot tables, dna, sql
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, good negotiation skills.
• Strong team player.
• Detail oriented.
• Exercises sound judgment.
• Ability to work well with others, as well as independently.

• Ability to lead system designs, development projects or problem-solving efforts.

Education and experience :

• Bachelor’s degree in a computer science field and five years or more experience in system analysis and testing.
• Prior state government experience highly desired.
