JCC Greater Boston, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a vibrant and inclusive community, is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Certified Assistant Infant / Toddler Teacher to join our team.

As a Certified Assistant Infant / Toddler Teacher at JCC Greater Boston, you will contribute to the mission of nurturing meaningful and lasting relationships while providing a high-quality early childhood education rooted in Jewish values.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the children in your care's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

Working as part of a dynamic team, you will do innovative teaching in a family-friendly environment with excellent indoor and outdoor spaces.

Eligible for $1,000 sign-on bonus

This posting is for a full-time, salaried Assistant Teacher. There are opportunities in the Infant and Toddler classrooms.

The starting salary for this position is $43,000-$44,625. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the scope of the position, the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity.

JCC Greater Boston also has openings for part-time Assistant Teachers with multiple shift options.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe and nurturing environment where children can play, learn, and take risks
  • Assist with the smooth running of the classroom environment
  • In partnership with Early Learning Center Directors and peers, co-create a collaborative, dynamic, positive, and innovative classroom culture
  • Work in partnership with JCC leadership and other departments to support JCC Greater Boston organizational goals and model JCC values
  • Partner and communicate with families to ensure the best care and education for the children
  • Complete observation and document assessments regarding children’s progress
  • Adhere to all EEC regulations and guidelines

Requirements

Must be EEC certified or willing to become certified immediately.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the JCC’s discretion to meet minimum criteria .

  • Strong organizational skills, including teamwork, relationship-building skills, the ability to multitask, the ability to manage situations effectively and diplomatically
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability and commitment to build strong relationships with families, co-workers, ELC leadership, and JCCGB colleagues
  • Commitment to create and foster a dynamic environment where play and learning are a top priority
  • Computer literate
