Responsible for direct build of mechanical and electrical component assemblies, including assembly under stereoscope, in clean room environment.
Perform hands-on engineering builds, inspection, data collection, and basic data analysis. Assist R&D Engineering with new product development, prototype building, process documentation, and production release.
Aid in maintaining professional standards of cleanliness and ESD processes in Engineering test Lab (OE3). Actively participate in CCA cleaning, coating, testing, and rework, and other tasks associated with CCA manufacturing.
Duties :
- Work independently and on a team to resolve complex issues with Mechanical and Electrical assembly of systems and components
- Perform assembly of mechanical components for support of product development, often under microscope or stereoscope
- Monitor and track all build configurations and processes; recognize, troubleshoot, and resolve build issues. Document processes for future builds and / or production release.
- Able to post data to Excel spreadsheets and manufacturing systems databases; recognize trends, patterns, and potential issues in test data.
- Develop work instructions for operators for developed processes.
- Maintain Engineering work environment to 5S standards.
- Keep Engineering Lab in good working order by looking after all needed testing and calibration of lab equipment and supplies, and observing (and enforcing where needed) all ESD precautions for handling and testing electrical assemblies.
- Perform soldering and conformal coat tasks in compliance with existing professional standards, and maintain proficiency via additional training and recertification.
Skills / Qualifications :
Associate degree in Optics, Electronics or similar field or minimum of 5 years of related experience. Detail oriented, and high level of mechanical dexterity is required.
Minimum of five years’ experience in semiconductor manufacturing environment working with fiber coupling, and or precision opto-mechanical assembly, alignment and / or test is preferred.
Experience with laser diode diagnostic equipment desirable (beam measurement cameras, oscilloscopes, photo diodes, power supplies, TEC controllers, and spectrometers).
Must have excellent communications skills. Familiarity with MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word, and PowerPoint desirable. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in 10,000 class clean room environment wearing bunny suit, face mask, head mask and gloves for entire production shift.
Stand at workstation for majority of production shift. Safety glasses required for some operations.
