Job Summary :

Heartwood Extended Care  in Tacoma, Washington is seeking a  Cook  to prepare and serve meals. Oversees food service operation and ensures that adequate food and supplies are on hand.

Essential Functions :

• Prepares food items and serves food to residents within scheduled timeframe.
• Follows menu cycle, noting changes or substitutions made on proper form.
• Cleans and maintains a neat, safe working environment including the kitchen and food service areas.
• Maintains inventory control, places food order, verifies that items are received appropriately and restocks kitchen shelves appropriately.
• Directs food service and dining service functions.
• Maintains the quantity of food prepared and samples the food to ensure the quality of the food served to the residents.
• Reports problems, concerns, issues observed with food service and communicates them appropriately.
• Observes changes in resident status, needs, or preferences and communicates with appropriate team members.
• Coordinates coverage of the kitchen and works with the Residence Director to develop a schedule that ensures adequate coverage.
• Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
