MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As an On-Prem Systems Administrator , the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customers. You will play a crucial role in these work areas :

Responsible for the administration, maintenance and support of the organization's IT systems and infrastructure including managing servers, ensuring system availability and implementing solutions to improve system performance and security.

Supports the installation, configuration and maintenance of servers including physical and virtual environments.

Collaborates with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements and provide appropriate solutions.

Manages the Active Directory, and other core IT services.

Monitors systems performance and troubleshoots issues to ensure high availability and reliability.

Performs maintenance such as patch management, updates and backups.

Plans and executes systems upgrades and hardware / software installations.

Ensures systems are updated with latest security patches and software updates.

Implements and maintains security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.

Conducts security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with organization policies and regulatory requirements.

Manages and tests backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.

Develops and maintains disaster recovery plans for critical systems and services.

Participates in disaster recovery drills and business continuity planning.

Provides support to end users and other IT staff by resolving hardware, software and system related issues.

Maintains detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures and changes.

Creates reports on system performance, security incidents and other key metrics.

Coordinates with other IT teams to ensure coordinated delivery of IT services.

May assist in the development of IT policies and procedures.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The On-Prem Systems Administrator must have :

• ? Education : Technical Training, Certification(s), or Degree
• ? Experience : 1+ years of related experience
• ? Required Skills :

Experience with Linux / Red Hat OS or Windows Server OS 2019 and above, network configurations, and server hardware

Familiarity with Active Directory

Understanding of virtualization platforms like VMware, Nutanix, and / or Hyper-V

Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, and / or Bash

Prior Real-time operations / systems experience

Sec+, A+, Net+, Cloud +, ITIL, Foundational Certification from a Cloud Provider (i.e. AWS CCP Certification, AZ 900, Cloud Digital Leader)

Red Hat Certification

Automation Concepts (Ansible / Puppet)

Experience with Splunk, Science Logic, Service Now, F5 Load Balancers

Familiarity with Cisco switches and firewalls

Experience with SQL database queries and troubleshooting

Backups (VEEAM, NetBackup, Unitrends)

Scripting and coding experience (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Terraform, GIT)

Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure Cloud providers

Familiarity with security baselines (i.e. CIS Benchmarks or DISA STIGs

Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences at various levels of an organization

The likely salary range for this position is $71,445 - $96,661. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
