Job Description Summary
The Advanced Programs Controls Technical Leader (Senior Engineer) will report to the Control Systems Manager within the GE Evendale Advanced Technologies Organization.
The engineer will be responsible for leading the Controls advancement of two significant advanced technologies programs.
This role reflects the essential nature of improved engine / airframe integration and incorporation of advanced technologies towards achieving aviation industry sustainability goals in the first half of the 21st century.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Controls Leader for a Demonstrator Engine Program - recognized as Controls technical expert / PoC for Systems questions and decisions.
- Scope Controls and Transient lead roles and responsibilities and organize team to effectively execute on early concept maturation.
- Drive controls studies / trades in line with systems momentums.
- Drive requirements architecture; ensure connectivity with and consistency with other demonstrators requirements.
- Determine Hierarchal architecture strategy given reuse
- Steer Engine Systems through TRD development; ensure alignment with Controls needs
- Leverage requirement traceability tools.
- Guide control concept of operations. Guide clarity and Systems consensus on the limitations of the demonstrator given that Con Ops.
- Steer overall CFM integration approach, including interface definition given fuel system ownership at Safran and integrated test approach.
- Guide starter sizing and start integration.
Additionally, you will responsible to continually mature your personal and professional development through training opportunities, mentorship, and formal career path identification.
You will also be responsibility to own a strategic initiative within the Commercial Controls section unrelated to program activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or Master's degree from an accredited university or college
- 5 years of experience in Controls engineering
