Job descriptionSet-up & maintenance of new tooling including but not limited to first piece quality submission. Alert Supervisor when there is a conflict in scheduling – machine maintenance – tool maintenance on tooling projects. Assist in the standardization of tooling component inventory. Meet quoted tool / fixture / gage build cost. 100% on time per confirmed schedule. Assist as requested in the development of project / tool estimates (quotes). Assist in development & implementation of lean projects. Assist CSS Managers as requested on all metal stamping and four slides programs. Observe CSS processes and give recommendations for improvement. Alert Supervisor on updates & corrections needed on job travelers for operation changes / additions. Maintains adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good housekeeping standards. Observes company processes and makes recommendations for improvement. May be required to assist or otherwise instruct other personnel. Performs other duties as may be required. Attendance is an essential function of the job. Minimum 5 years experience in the Set-up – Trouble shooting and Production of Progressive / / Compound & Secondary tooling. Ability to read - understand blue prints as needed for production manufacturing. Working knowledge and practical experience with the use of statistical process control in production environments. Working knowledge of ISO quality standards and practical experience with the use of statistical process control in a production environment. An understanding of Manufacturing Engineering - Quality Engineering. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing (i.e. Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5S, etc.). Familiar with principles of concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing and assembly. Experience with production standards, cost of quality and manufacturing methods. Detail & Task driven work ethic. Visual ability (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work. Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending. Ability to lift objects from lower to a higher position or moving horizontally from position-to-position. Ability to lift up to 35lbs unassisted.
