Pay Range

$39,500.00-$50,500.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.

Interns thrive at JM because we give our employees the ability to do things they wouldn't be able to anywhere else. As a Chemical Engineering Intern in R&D you will work side by side with other engineering professionals and leadership by participating in hands on activities such as sampling, analysis, troubleshooting, and process improvements as well as being responsible for documentation and various initiatives.

Job Duties:

• Work under supervision of senior scientists.
• Synthesize and evaluate chemical and physical properties of polymers including pH, kinetic studies, and manufacturing.
• Physical testing of composites and thermal analysis.
• Documentation and record keeping.

What You Bring to the Team:

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering.
• Upcoming senior or recent undergraduate that is pursuing further education.
• Ability to start full time in May 2025 and work until August 2025.
• Emphasis on organic, physical or analytical chemistry.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with several scientists on various projects.
• Ability to coordinate and work with cross functional groups including Analytical, Business and Sourcing Groups.

Preferred Qualifications

• GPA of at least 3.0 at an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Basic understanding of production processes
• Strategic and creative thinking
• Solid works experience
