Eastern Waste Systems, Inc. in Pompano Beach is looking to hire Diesel Mechanic with Welding experience for our Shop.

Job Type : Full-time (Night Shifts).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; other minor duties may be assigned.
• Diesel / Hydraulic mechanic with troubleshooting experience.
• A / C and Electrical Systems knowledge.
• Must be able to visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Assists in the fabrication, modifies, and installs special equipment or replacement parts using welders, torch sets, plasma cutter and metal cutting saws.
• Works under limited supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Must have their own tools / specialty tools; test equipment will be provided.
• Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
• Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment, A / C systems.
• Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs
• Perform work with 100% integrity and professionalism.
• Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
• Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
