Lead Underwriting Consultant

A company is looking for a Lead Underwriting Consultant to manage underwriting services and oversee risk selection for large complex life applications.

Key Responsibilities

Analyzes data to provide risk selection approvals and prepares reports on underwritten risks

Evaluates life insurance applications with a focus on medical and financial risk assessment

Participates in business planning and recommends changes to improve productivity and profitability

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

College degree required; equivalent work experience in life underwriting may be considered

FLMI, FALU, and ACS designations or current coursework toward earning these certificates are required

7-10 years of underwriting experience is required

Strong knowledge of insurance products, underwriting principles, and financial factors

Highly developed knowledge of medical science and its impact on mortality
