Wellpointe currently operates the Fresno Guest Homes, Cottages at The Colony, Irvine Cottages, and Grannys Place residential assisted living brands in Fresno, Los Angeles, and the central & south Orange County areas of California.
POSITION SUMMARY
TheSenior Accountantplays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the companys financial records and reports. This role is responsible for overseeing complex accounting tasks, supporting the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, and mentoring junior accounting staff. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, thrives in a fast-paced and growing environment, and demonstrates both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries and general ledger reconciliations across multiple entities
- Analyze financial data and generate internal reports to support business decision-making
- Maintain and manage the fixed asset ledger, including capital project tracking, depreciation, and disposals
- Support preparation of consolidated financial statements and related financial disclosures
- Coordinate and support external audit requests and other financial reviews
- Partner with operational teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and intercompany accounting
- Identify areas for process improvement and assist in developing enhanced financial workflows and controls
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Train and support Staff Accountants and other team members as needed
- Participate in ad hoc financial analysis and strategic projects
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA-track preferred)Experience in public accounting or working for a public company preferred4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or healthcare-related organizationAdvanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP and strong understanding of full-cycle accountingExperience with lease accounting, fixed asset accounting, intercompany transactions, and financial statement preparationExperience with conducting internal control assessments and driving process improvements / streamliningStrong proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systemsDemonstrated ability to analyze financial data and present insights effectivelyHigh attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skillsAn understanding of KPIs, the ability to analyze data and identify / present trendsAbility to work independently, manage competing priorities, all while supporting junior staff to ensure deadlines are metExcellent written, verbal, presentation, and communication skillsPrior experience mentoring or supporting junior staff is requiredWork Environment & What We Offer :
