The Tool and Die Maker III assesses tool condition, troubleshoots complex tools, and works closely with engineering on tooling issues and design improvements.
SALARY RANGE :
The anticipated base pay for this position is : $34 / hour - $45 / hour (depends on experience)
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Inspects highly complex tools (molds & dies) for damage and wear to assess overall condition.
- Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.
- Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.
- Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances on new and existing designs.
- Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part. Including production machines.
- Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, and grinder, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machine parts to specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS : Education :
Two-year technical school in Tool & Die making or equivalent experience.Experience :
Minimum of five (5) years related experience as a Toolmaker.Skills :
Understanding of various tool steels and how they relate to the appropriate application.Knowledge of small miniature molds is a plus.Experience with medical grade resins is a plus.Thorough knowledge of machine shop practice.Highly analytical.Requires a thorough knowledge of machine shop practice.Understands trigonometry.Understands production machine functions and can troubleshoot mechanical functions.Good communication skills.We are proud to offer competitive compensation and benefits that include :
