Job Description
The Electrical Control Engineer is responsible for assembling and wiring electrical control panels based on schematics and company standards. This hands-on role involves both electrical and mechanical work and requires significant experience with control system design and PLC / HMI programming. The ideal candidate will also assist in system troubleshooting and testing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead or contribute to control system design, vision systems programming, and testing
- Assemble and wire electrical control panels using point-to-point wiring
- Mount enclosures, drill, tap, and punch holes in panels
- Wire equipment and assist with system startup, checkout, and troubleshooting
- Perform functional, high-voltage, and continuity tests using standard instruments
- Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety guidelines
- Follow manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision
- Support continuous improvement and workspace organization efforts
Qualifications
Required :
10–15 years of experience in control panel assembly, electrical design, and PLC / HMI programmingStrong proficiency in interpreting and creating electrical schematicsProven experience with designing and programming industrial automation systemsPreferred :
Experience with Codesys programming environmentBackground in machine automation or custom equipment designSkills
Proficient in electrical panel layout and component selectionFamiliarity with UL standards and industrial control panel safety regulationsStrong problem-solving and organizational abilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCapable of working independently and leading small project effortsProgramming Allen BradleyPhysical Requirements
Regularly required to stand and lift up to 10 poundsFrequently lift and move up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 poundsVisual abilities include close vision, depth perception, and color recognitionWork Environment
