Role Summary The Assistant Materials Manager plays a key leadership role in overseeing inventory control, material flow, and supply chain efficiency within the manufacturing environment. This position supports the Materials Manager in achieving departmental goals and ensures accurate inventory management through effective supervision, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. The role requires strong SAP expertise, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support inventory control activities, including cycle counting, reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
• Lead and mentor inventory staff, including training on SAP transactions, cycle counting procedures, and root cause analysis.
• Monitor and improve inventory accuracy and material availability to support production schedules.
• Collaborate with production, assembly, and logistics teams to anticipate and resolve material-related issues.
• Analyze inventory trends and discrepancies to identify systemic issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with ABC Classification schedules and audit requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Materials Department.
• Maintain and optimize SAP inventory processes and reporting tools.
• Support label management and resolution of labeling issues.
• Assist in forklift operations and certification compliance as needed.
