Job Description

Basic Purpose

Position is assigned responsibilities involving the layout, installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, controls, fixtures and related equipment in facilities.

Compensation : $55000.00

Typical Functions

• Services, maintains and repairs HVAC systems that control temperature, humidity, air-flow and air-filtering in all types of commercial and light-commercial buildings.
• Inspects HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs, and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
• Performs scheduled and routine preventive maintenance on HVAC systems for the purpose of ensuring life-cycle operation of these systems.
• Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, equipment and refrigerant logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and / or conveying information.
• Orders and maintains equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and / or repair.
• Inform supervisor regarding status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making purchasing and scheduling decisions.

Current Mechanical Journeyman license

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

Knowledge of the operation of a variety of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems; of the methods, materials, fixtures, tools and equipment utilized in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration maintenance; and of standard safety precautions in the trade. Ability is required to maintain and repair various types of heating, refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. Ability to install various types of heating and air conditioning components and in providing guidance and training to assigned work crews.
