Job Summary:
The Sr. Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll and related data, verifying and correcting payroll reports and documents, reconciling and transmitting payroll payments, and providing support to the payroll staff.
This person MUST have Prevailing Wage experience and be Payroll Certified.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process data entry for multi-state payroll for more than 2500 employees under strict deadlines while ensuring all entries and system outputs follow local, state and federal laws.
- Handling employee and business partner queries (HR, Finance, Tax)
- Analyze and process off-cycle pay, special payments, adjustments, and reversals.
- Manual garnishment calculations and maintenance.
- Compile and distribute Certified Payroll reporting.
- Assist with monthly journal entries for payroll expense and accruals and assist with month-end analysis and adjusting journal entries.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
- Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and general accounting software and have strong typing/data entry skills.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, with at least 1 year in a senior or supervisory role, preferably within a large organization.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in payroll software (., ADP, Paycom, or similar systems).
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
