Will directly supervise nursing staff, while ensuring licensing and certification standards are met. May be required to provide direct care as needed.\n\nHow does it get done?\n\nPlans, directs, coordinates and supervises the delivery of long-term care services to residents in the facility.\n\nMaintain accurate, detailed reports and records.\n\nAdminister medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.\n\nRecord patients' medical information and vital signs.\n\nMonitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.\n\nConsult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.\n\nWho are the customers?\n\nResidents at a long-term care facility.\n\nIdeal Candidate\n\nMust have : \n\nThe ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.\n\nThe ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel, and the general public.\n\nKnowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.\n\nThe ability to function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.\n\nMinimum Qualification\n\nMust possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico and two (2) years of management experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.\n\nEmployment Requirements\n\nThis position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and / or drug testing. Will be screened for tuberculosis (TB) upon hire.
