The Nursing Home Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors, and staff. This role requires a warm, professional, and organized individual who can manage a variety of administrative tasks while maintaining a friendly and supportive environment. This is a part time position.
Greet and assist visitors, residents, and staff in a courteous and professional manner
Answer, screen, and forward incoming calls; take messages and direct to appropriate personnel
Maintain visitor sign-in logs and enforce visitor policies
Respond to inquiries and provide information about facility services and procedures
Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
Assist with administrative duties such as filing, copying, data entry, and scheduling appointments
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk/reception area
Support resident communication needs (e.g., scheduling transportation, family calls)
Follow HIPAA regulations and facility confidentiality policies
Respond to emergency situations per facility protocols
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior receptionist or customer service experience preferred, especially in a healthcare setting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, etc.)
Familiarity with elder care or long-term care settings is a plus
Requires evening and/or weekend shifts
Desk-based work with some light lifting (mail, office supplies)
Exposure to a healthcare environment with elderly or vulnerable residents
