The Lead Controls Requisition Engineer works as part of the Solar & Battery Energy Storage Solution (BESS) controls engineering team in an international environment and will be responsible for project execution, software validation, field implementation and maintenance of GE's Solar and Storage Solutions Software (BESS, Solar & Plant level) control systems. This includes, but is not limited to, AC systems, DC systems, Building, SCADA, and Plant level controls up to and including interfaces with upper-level customer control systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead project specific software development, validation, and installation for Solar and Storage Solutions Control (BESS, Solar & Plant level) Systems.
  • Support on-site starts up and integration of system controls.
  • Track overall status of projects, deliverables, cut ins, and goals of the control team.
  • Interact with customers to drive requirements and customer satisfaction.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with customers with confidence and clarity.
  • Develop, improve, and administer customer overview and operational training material for the Hybrid control system.
  • Work across the Solar and Storage Solutions engineering and services organizations to prepare documentation for installation, commissioning, and operations for internal GE employees and customers.
  • Drive performance and reliability enhancements back to the product team.
  • Participate in design, code reviews, testing and software valuation.
  • Collaborate with the ITO / OTR organization and the project management team to manage control deliverables and requirements for Solar and Storage Solutions energy projects.
  • Design, develop and deploy control hardware configuration for each project and design the communication network (DI / DO, Ethernet, FO, etc.).
  • Support problem identification and resolution of new and installed products.
  • Help develop the skill of less experienced engineers.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Science or in STEM from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with developing software & controls with high-level software languages.
  • Desired Characteristics

  • Strong knowledge of or familiarity with GE's MarkVIe product family and GE's Cimplicity software (SCADA), ToolBox ST & WorkStation ST.
  • Experience implementing controls or systems integration in products and field engineering.
  • Knowledge of communication networks (NW switch, Router, Firewall, copper, FO) and their design, software and hardware.
  • Familiarity with standard industrial protocols such as OPC-UA, EGD, IEC and Modbus.
  • Knowledge of power conversion systems and controls.
  • Expertise in energy storage controls, validation and verification, formal methods, systems integration, advanced controls or related technologies.
  • Technical project leadership experience.
  • Ability to summarize and communicate complex technical information.
  • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
  • Curiosity, passion for excellence, drive to deliver on-time.
  • Ability to present technical plans in voice of customer.
  • Advanced Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience working cross-functionally between Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Logistics, Product Management, etc.
  • Self-start attitude.
  • Salary and Benefits

    The salary range for this position is 98,400.00 – 131,200.00 – 164,000.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
