Job description

Insight Global's client, a nonprofit organization, is hiring an HR Manager for a full-time, permanent role with a hybrid schedule in Pittsburgh, PA.

This organization is deeply committed to providing public health and support to underserved families in the local community, and they're looking for someone who shares that passion. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience in strengthening HR operations - performance management, SOP development, and departmental strategy.

In this role, you'd be instrumental in ensuring labor law compliance, leading recruitment and retention initiatives, overseeing staff training, and fostering employee engagement. You'll report directly to the COO and Director of Administration, supervise the HR Training and Development Coordinator, and help shape policy development and performance strategies with a strong focus on equity and inclusion.

Core Responsibilities :

  • Recruitment : Develop hiring strategies, manage job postings, source candidates, and collaborate with hiring teams to meet staffing goals.
  • Onboarding : Coordinate new hire setup, payroll documentation, policy reviews, and first-week check-ins.
  • HR Records : Maintain accurate employee files, process payroll updates, and support staff with HR systems.
  • Training & Development : Assess training needs, deliver HR sessions, support evaluations, and assist with employee satisfaction initiatives.
  • Employee Relations : Serve as the HR contact for staff concerns, promote morale, resolve conflicts, investigate complaints, and conduct exit interviews.
  • Special Projects : Provide support to the CEO, COO, and leadership team on ad hoc assignments.

Required Skills and Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related business field
  • 5–7+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Strong knowledge of personnel records and compliance management
  • Genuine passion and commitment to supporting underserved communities and families
  • Nice to have Skills and Experience :

  • Master's degree and / or HR certification (e.g., SHRM, PHR)
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms
  • Background in public health or nonprofit organizations
  • Compensation and Benefits :

    $70,000 to $75,000 annually

    Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, education, and skill set.
