Position Summary Cable East is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Human Resources Manager to evaluate, enhance, and modernize our HR practices and programs.
This role is designed for a hands-on HR professional with proven experience in overhauling and correcting HR programs, and in taking the lead to implement effective, sustainable improvements.
The ideal candidate will bring experience working with or within family-owned companies, understanding the unique dynamics and culture that influence people operations.
The HR Manager will assess existing systems, identify areas for improvement, and drive changes that strengthen compliance, streamline operations, and enrich the overall employee experience.
This leader will serve as a trusted partner to company leadership, ensuring that HR practices evolve in step with business growth and industry best standards.
Key Responsibilities HR Assessment & Improvement Review current HR policies, procedures, and systems, identifying gaps and inefficiencies.
Lead efforts to update, streamline, and modernize HR programs across onboarding, compliance, and employee relations.
Implement practical improvements that balance regulatory compliance with employee experience.
Employee Relations & Engagement Promote a positive and respectful workplace culture.
Administer performance evaluations, coaching, and conflict resolution processes.
Support initiatives that improve employee engagement, accountability, and professional growth.
Compliance, Benefits & Operations Ensure HR programs comply with labor laws, safety standards, and company policies.
Administer benefits, leave policies, and compensation programs.
Maintain HR systems and records, and use HR metrics to guide decisions.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Manage full-cycle recruitment for skilled, safety-minded professionals.
Enhance hiring practices with consistent, values-driven approaches.
Redesign onboarding into a clear, engaging, and scalable experience that supports long-term retention. Qualifications Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred. 7+ years of progressive HR experience (construction / utilities a plus).
Proven success in improving or modernizing HR processes and policies.
Strong knowledge of labor laws, compliance, and workforce planning.
High emotional intelligence, discretion, and professionalism.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office; NetSuite experience a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field required; HR certification preferred.
