Strategic Communications Manager

In this role, you will drive and execute strategic communications for PayPal in the Americas which includes key customer and partner storytelling aimed at engaging diverse audiences, including media, consumers, businesses, and stakeholders. As part of the Corporate Affairs team, you will be responsible for creating and promoting customer narratives wins, innovations, and product use cases tied to Global Strategic Accounts, large enterprises, and key channel partners.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans to support business goals.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of communication materials across various channels.
  • Manage relationships with media, stakeholders, and partners to enhance the company's reputation.
  • Analyze communication metrics and adjust strategies to improve effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align communication efforts with corporate objectives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the communications team, fostering professional growth.

Expected Qualifications :

  • 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In your day-to-day role your responsibilities will cover the following :

    Global Strategic Accounts and Americas Large Enterprises

  • Lead on select Americas and Global Strategic Accounts workstreams, including end-to-end responsibility for certain top customer announcements.
  • Deliver polished, impactful content across multiple channels (e.g., news releases, social media, industry publications), ensuring all communications reflect PayPal's commitment to innovation and partnership.
  • This involves working closely with sales, marketing, partnership marketing, Investor Relations and colleagues across Corporate Affairs to develop and execute strategic comms plans to share enterprise customer / partner stories that are impactful across multiple channels.
  • The role is media facing, with responsibility of proactively pitching major customer announcements to US and global media.
  • Comms partner to SVP & General Manager, Americas. This includes strategizing and developing their executive comms program (internal and external events, employee comms and social media) and sourcing key media and speaking opportunities.
  • Empower sales and business teams with fresh content that showcases high-profile wins, enabling leaders to use these stories in engagements with existing and prospective customers.
  • Global Lead Channel Partner Comms

  • This role requires collaboration with partner and cross-functional teams to develop communication plans for PayPal's strategic channel partners, such as Shopify, BigCommerce, Salesforce etc.
  • Build relationships with channel partner leads and work with them and partners to deliver global announcements on new and expanding partnerships.
  • Act as main global point of contact for Corporate Affairs colleagues on all matters relating to large channel partners.
  • Coordinate and drive best practice in Channel Partner comms in other regions.
  • Vertical Storytelling

  • Support the Global Markets sales teams on their vertical based solution selling. This is an opportunity to work with cross-functional teams from sales, product, and GTM teams.
  • Devise scalable activities to drive coordinated, best-in-class communications efforts that support priority verticals. For example : travel, retail, food, media and entertainment.
  • Engage and inspire Global Markets Comms colleagues to amplify our vertical storytelling.

    Actual Compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to work location, and relevant skills and experience.

    The total compensation for this practice may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable), equity, and medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.

    The US national annual pay range for this role is $94,000 to $156,200.
