General Manager
Common House is a modern social club with locations in Richmond, VA, Charlottesville, VA, Chattanooga, TN, and New Orleans, LA. More than a membership, the Houses provide inclusive spaces to dine, work, and discover through daily programming, unique amenities, and connection opportunities with other members.
The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day FOH food and beverage / facilities operations of the club. The GM will be an ambassador for Common House, exemplifying our core values, and will have an objective of operational efficiency, increased revenue, and continuously improving the member and guest experience.
Responsibilities of the General Manager include, but are not limited to :
- Staffing, Service, Employee Relations
Oversee hiring and onboarding for all FOH food and beverage staff. Coach, mentor, and develop FOH Managers and staff through staff evaluations, incentives, ongoing coaching, and one-on-one goal-setting sessions.
Lead weekly team meetings with BEO, ensuring the execution of events to exceed members, clients, and employees' expectations.Responsible for the execution of all service training programsCreate and manage staff schedule by monitoring business levels in all areas of the operation to cover all needs while meeting financial goals. Upholding service standards through exemplary leadership and direct communication with all team members by identifying challenges and encouraging the successes of the teamSetting and enforcing expectations for brand standards and company policies through leading by example and delivering regular, direct feedbackMaintaining a positive working relationship with all employees through servant leadershipOperations ManagementAreas of oversight and responsibility include - FOH operations, beverage programming, member / private event execution, facilities, and concierge operations.
Co-developing and implementing cost controls and revenue generation initiatives to drive profit for the House.Manage labor, expense, and COGS budgets of the House's overall operations to ensure P&L is managed effectively.Assisting in the execution of forecasting, budgeting, and setting measurable goals for increased revenueProcessing and overseeing daily payroll and accounting proceduresExtensive knowledge in managing all beverage inventory and purchasingOversee all beverage menu creation, ensuring member satisfaction and achieving financial goalsOversee all facilities operations, including janitorial, maintenance, and recommendations for capital improvementsMember RelationsWork with the House leadership team to drive membership happiness and retention with an understanding of membership goals
Soliciting member and employee feedback to build a service environment, and to provide guidance on future programming and eventsQualifications :
5-10 years of hospitality management experience with an emphasis on FOH food and beverage operationsServSafe CertifiedF&B experience100% onsite position located at Common House Chattanooga, including a rotating schedule of evenings, weekends, and holidays. Experience in managing and developing teams of hourly employees.Financial acumenRegulatory, safety, and compliance understanding and experienceEvent management and execution experiencePhysical Requirements :
Prolonged periods of time walking, standing, and on one's feet. Must be able to carry 15 pounds repetitively.
