Responsibilities Position is based in a hospital Emergency Department with Level I trauma designation Work schedule includes night shifts (3x12 hours : 19 : 00-07 : 30) with 36 or 48 hour per week contracts available Nurse-to-patient ratio is approximately 1 : 5 60-80% of ED patients are admitted, with many rooms functioning as ED holding areas Floating required to Adult PCUs as needed and may include floating to ED Holding and Trauma Optional floating to Pediatric ED Uses Cerner EMR system Weekend shifts are required as needed, covering both days and nights No on-call responsibilities Responsibilities include medication administration, IV therapy, and documentation of clinical findings Increased volume of admit holds currently in the ED Scrub color requirement is black; scrubs are not provided Travelers will be scheduled for weekends as needed based on staffing Block scheduling is not available First-time travelers will be considered if they have 2 years of Level I trauma experience Time off requests exceeding 7 days require client approval, and no time off is permitted during the first or last 7 days of the contract Holiday time off is limited to one 'holiday bundle' per contract (e.g., Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) Former permanent employees are eligible if separated from the health system for 12 months or more All required compliance and testing must be completed promptly after offer acceptance Requirements Active NM or compact RN license (may be pending at time of consideration) Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required; Level I trauma experience strongly preferred Current certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (must have prior to consideration), and NIHSS (may be pending until compliance due date) No RQI certifications accepted COVID vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions accepted with appropriate documentation Must have a valid (non-local) driver's license or provide a transportation plan No candidates living within a 75-mile radius will be considered Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-633492.
