Must-Have :

2 years of previous Med Surg experience.

Level 1 trauma experience.

EPIC experience.

BLS certification through AHA.

Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Description :

This is a new medical / surgical unit that operates in a fast-paced environment.

The unit consists of 15 private rooms for general medical / surgical patients.

Patients are admitted from the emergency room and are provided care until they are assigned to a specific unit.

Nursing staff are required to perform initial admissions and provide comprehensive nursing care.

Communication is facilitated through Zebra phones, and medications are managed using Omnicell.

Aleris IV pumps are utilized for medication administration.

The nurse to patient ratio is 5 : 1 during the day and 6 : 1 during the night.

Floating to other medical / surgical units may be required.

Navy blue scrubs are to be worn as the dress code.

The client may cancel shifts up to 12 hours prior without penalty.

Charting is done using the Epic system.
