What does this role look like?

The ideal candidate for the Project Engineer Senior position is a multifaceted professional with a strong foundation in engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities. They should also demonstrate strong leadership and collaboration skills, be adaptable and flexible, and possess a strong sense of professionalism and integrity. Additionally, they should align with the company's values and culture and be able to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines.

In this role will offer you the following daily key responsibilities :

In this Project Engineering role, you will be responsible for coordinating the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion amongst a cross-site team working some of the program's most critical hardware.

This includes :

Planning and formulating Project Management Baselines for new projects

Potential Responsibility for active Control Account Management (CAM) and Earn Value Management (EVM)

Ensuring compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer and supplier contract requirements, and related specifications

Coordinating activities concerned with technical development, scheduling of product installation, and resolving engineering design and test problems

Although this position does support some teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in either Denver, CO (opens in new window), or Titusville, FL.(Space City, USA) (opens in new window), and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications :

To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications :

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience / combined education,

Prior project management experience,

Prior Avionics Production management Experience,

Previous professional experience with scheduling and planning to meet contractual milestones and deliverables,

Demonstrated understanding and wide application of project management principles, theories, and concepts in the field,

You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Desired Skills :

To be effective, ideally, you should also have :

FBM program experience

Experience with Control Account Management (CAM), including Earned Value Management (EVM), and managing performance metrics risk and opportunity, management, and integrated planning.

Electronics Design and Manufacturing experience

Missile design / development experience

Possess excellent customer relationship management skills to include outreach and communications experience

Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems

Experience with Microsoft Project and / or OpenPlan software to create and manage Integrated Master Schedules

Desire to enhance Program Management skills including communication, the ability to deal with unforeseen challenges, and building strong relationships.

Previous proposal or Basis-of-Estimates writing or reviewing experience

Understanding of engineering processes (engineering release, requirements definition, design, analysis, verification)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues

Accept responsibility, accountability and exercise authority to ensure cost, schedule, and technical success.

Ability to Work Remotely : Part-time Remote Telework : The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules : Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position : 9x80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate : The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered : Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees : accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
