The Position
A leading global art auction house is seeking a Commercial / Contracts Attorney to help cover an upcoming family leave. This attorney will support multiple art departments with a focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating consignment, exhibition, and operations agreements, to name a few. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of in‑house commercial or transactional experience, strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple fast‑paced projects. Experience in the art, auction, entertainment, or luxury goods sectors is a strong plus.
The client is aiming to have someone in the role by February. The position requires 35+ hours per week with an on‑site presence 3 days a week at the client’s NYC location. The estimated duration of the engagement is five months.
The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $110 and $116. This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
