Position Summary :
NJIT invites applications and
nominations for the position of Director of the School of Applied Engineering
and Technology (SAET). This is a Professor-level appointment for a candidate
with a strong record in engineering education, academic leadership, and academic
program development. The Director will position SAET as a leader in engineering
education, and guide SAET's continued growth in applied engineering, workforce
readiness, and innovation.
The successful candidate will
lead efforts to expand SAET's graduate programs, with a focus on applied,
interdisciplinary, and engineering education research, and raise SAET's
national profile in engineering technology, and engineering education and
pedagogy.
Essential Functions :
We are seeking candidates suitable for the
rank of Full Professor with a demonstrated record of outstanding leadership and
mentorship. They should have interest and understanding of engineering
education and the evolving market need for engineers and technologists. The
director will be expected to build upon SAET's recognized strengths, recruit
outstanding faculty, promote scholarly initiatives, facilitate internal and
external research collaborations, maintain and further develop already strong
relationships with industry, and oversee curriculum development. The person is expected to work effectively in

Salary Information :
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this position is $120,000.00-$175,000.00 (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
