Position Description : Production Supervisor- Finishing / Industrial Paint line Operations

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented 1st Shift Production Supervisor to lead our Finishing Department , which includes all finishing processes and paint line operations. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met, and driving continuous improvement across the department.

Requirements

Primary Duties

• Lead and supervise the 1st shift team in finishing and paint line operations to meet daily production goals.
• Manage staffing, training, and development of team members; foster a culture of accountability, safety, and collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and production procedures.
• Monitor workflow, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and coordinate with maintenance to address equipment issues.
• Review production schedules and adjust resources to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, manage attendance, and participate in hiring and disciplinary processes in partnership with HR.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S and OSHA standards.
• Ensure all products meet customer specifications and internal quality benchmarks.
• Provide timely and accurate production reports to leadership to support operational decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Fabrication, Engineering, Quality, and Shipping to ensure seamless operations.

Experience & Skills :

• Proven experience in finishing operations , industrial painting , or manufacturing supervision .
• Strong understanding of finishing techniques, paint line processes, and quality control standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, 2D drawings, and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices.
• Effective leadership and team-building skills with the ability to coach and motivate employees.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to collaborate across departments.
• Decisive problem-solving skills and the ability to manage time effectively to meet production and shipping deadlines.
• Proficient in using production tracking systems and reporting tools.

Education & Experience :

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• OR 5+ years in a manufacturing or finishing environment, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
