QP Hydraulics - Carol Stream, IL - Full Time
JOB SUMMARY
Prince Industries is seeking an experienced Production Assembler for our Carol Stream, IL facility. The Production Assembler performs repetitive bench or line assembly operations to produce various types of specified products as described below.
This is a second shift position : 2 : 30pm - 11pm M-F.
$1,000 signing bonus to newly hired candidates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for all production product testing (i.e. hydraulic, electrical, etc.).
- Responsible for all assembly related inventory systems used to properly maintain inventory levels.
- Identifies low inventory levels and communicates such findings to department supervisor in a timely manner to avoid any negative impacts on production.
- Identifies areas of improvement for assembly procedures, fixtures, or testing of the production assemblies.
- May be required to take on new projects for set up of build benches, test stand, assembly equipment, etc.
- Initiates subassembly schedules and levels by directing Assembler "B" personnels workload and direction.
- Performs various assembly operations by placing parts in specified blueprint relationship to each other.
- Bolts, clips, screws, cements, or otherwise fastens parts together.
- Complete all associated paperwork as required for the job.
- Operates machines, such as arbor presses or riveting machine, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
- Maintains quality and production standards as identified by department supervisor.
- Train new and existing employees on assembly procedures and processes as needed.
- Identifies and reports problems with assembly, tooling or material shortages to supervisor and makes recommendations for problem resolution, as needed.
- May be required to receive and verify incoming product and requisition stock to replenish inventory.
- Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures : safety glasses, shoes, ear protection, lifting guidelines, etc.
as designated in specific work area assigned.
Additional duties or responsibilities as assigned by department supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Assembly experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Fluent Spanish is a plus but not required
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Working knowledge of assembly procedures and processes preferred
- Experience / knowledge of work instructions and / or building work instructions
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly required to sit or stand the duration of 8-10 hour shift daily.
- Occasionally required to bend, crouch, kneel or bend.
- Regularly required to perform repetitive operations of assembly daily
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision in which 20 / 20 or corrected vision to 20 / 20 vision is required for accuracy and completion of the assembly product.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Regularly may lift, push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment is generally loud in which hearing protection is required.
