Athletics General Maintenance Assistant
The Athletic Facilities General Maintenance Worker supports the upkeep and smooth operation of all athletic facilities by performing custodial, grounds, and general maintenance tasks under the direction of the Facilities Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs grounds care (mowing, trimming, planting, trash removal), custodial tasks, and event support.
- Operates and maintains lawn equipment and vehicles with minor repairs and upkeep.
- Assists with work orders and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong work ethic.
- Basic knowledge of groundskeeping and custodial practices.
- Ability to operate and maintain lawn equipment and light vehicles.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and work outdoors in varying conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Reliability and attention to detail in maintaining facilities and grounds.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
Minimum Requirements:
- A high-school diploma, or equivalent, with a basic knowledge (1+ years of experience) of groundskeeping, groundskeeping equipment, and custodial practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in groundskeeping, custodial work, or facility maintenance.
- Experience supporting events or large gatherings.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and duties.
Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:
- Operating, lifting and carrying a variety of lawn equipment.
- Lifting and carrying cumbersome items.
- Working in varied weather conditions is required.
