We are seeking a Staff Scientist (EIR Scientist) to join our Raleigh, NC team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring for various media and contaminants of concern by following established procedures,
  • Management and analysis of sampling data, including summary tables, result interpretation, and sample location maps
  • Provide field oversight services for drilling, soil and groundwater sampling, vapor intrusion assessment, underground storage tank (UST) removals, private drinking water and well surveys
  • Prepare reports, by assisting with data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation, and comparison to state and/or federal environmental regulatory standards,
  • Interact with internal and external clients, contractors, and service providers,
  • Participate in a proactive safety culture of continuous improvement, and
  • Collaborate with diverse team members toward a common goal of providing client-centric services with high quality interactions and deliverables.

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

  • BS in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field.
  • 0-4 years of related environmental consulting experience, NC-specific experience preferred;
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments, prioritizing and delegating activities, and delivering on tight deadlines;
  • Capable of working independently, under direct supervision of others, and in a team-orientated environment;
  • Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record;
  • Commitment to safety
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to pass a background check for clearance to work on various private and government facilities

Technical requirements:

  • Microsoft PC applications; WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint
  • Strong technical, analytical, and research skills;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Preferred 40-Hour Hazwoper

Other miscellaneous qualities:

  • Ability for overnight travel (typically in-state) as needed (average 20-30%)
  • Ability to perform moderately strenuous tasks
