GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Job Developer will be responsible for assisting clients of the Homeless Shelter in all stages of the job securement process.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Provide job development leads and support to unemployed clients
- Evaluates individuals background, skills and interest and matches to potential job openings or job fairs
- Assist clients in resume creation and distribution to potential employers
- Provide outreach to business community to make connections for potential candidates within the client base
- Establishes and maintains working relationships with employers, industry organizations, and public agencies to source job openings and secure employment and vocational training opportunities for clients
- Prepare clients for the interview process including mock interviews and proper interview attire
- Provide weekly reports on job securements of shelter clients
- Create and compose action plans to raise employment levels amongst the client base
- Documentation of individual client cases in DHS's CARES
- In the event of an emergency, Essential Employees are required to report to work as scheduled
- Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based upon assessment of company needs.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with the Homeless population is a plus.Experience with DHS Cares is a plus.Bachelor's Degree required psychology, social work, sociology, mental health, nursing, health and human services, or education services.Bilingual English / Spanish is preferred.
