Job description

Administrative Coordinator

The mission of the Human Resources office is to provide a professional and responsive approach to Public Safety Services' human resources needs in the program areas of policies and procedures, benefits administration, classification, and compensation, employee administration, and human resources-related training and development.

  • Minimum qualifications :

  • Two years of experience in administrative services.
  • Experience substitution : Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

    Job duties and other information :

  • Carries out basic departmental duties following established rules and policies. This may include working with other departments or customers.
  • Processes routine paperwork and / or enters data into a department log or database in the servicing of a customer.
  • Develops procedures and guidelines related to the imaging of documents; maintains a log of imaged files; may serve as lead worker over other imaging positions.
  • Prepares requisitions for the purchase of supplies; may involve entering information into an automated system.
  • Compiles information from various sources and prepares specialized reports; formats reports according to department standards.
  • Serves as a clerical assistant to a manager, which could include keeping appointment schedules, preparing travel, issuing directives to others on their behalf, and relieving the manager of administrative matters.
  • May begin performing duties related to traditional administrative functions, such as property control, purchasing, and safety, in addition to other clerical duties as noted above.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Position-specific details :

  • Appointment type : This is a part-time, at will position, that is limited to 1,245 hours per contract year.
  • Work schedule : Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM, Monday Friday.
  • Location : This vacancy is located in East Baton Rouge Parish.
  • Compensation : The bi-weekly salary offered is as listed below :
  • Administrative Coordinator 3 WAE (AS609) - $1,106.60
