Summary :

Metalico in Youngstown, OH is seeking a skilled Commercial Tire Technician to mount, dismount, and repair semi-truck tires in the shop or on the road.

Essential Job Functions :

Mount and dismount semi-truck tires.

Change flat tires in the shop or on the road.

Respond to on-the-road service calls.

Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times.

Conducts daily service checks of equipment, and utilizes the work order process if maintenance is required.

Performs other tasks as assigned or requested.

Qualifications :

A valid driver's License and clean driving record are required.

Mechanical experience of 1-2 years is preferred.

Ability to work inside or outside as required.

Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits.

Punctual and reliable; good attendance required.

Ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise.

Must be willing to follow and participate in Metalico’s Drug-Free Safety Policy.

Physical Demands :

The physical demands listed below are some but not all of what’s required of this job.

Lift and replace semi-truck tires.

Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

Standing, sitting, walking, squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, and grasping.

Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate hand and power tools.

Lifts to 80 pounds from the floor to waist level and can carry such objects for at least 30 feet.

Physically able to participate in training and meetings.

Work Environment :

Outside work in the Yard is where temperature and weather extremes (heat, cold, rain) may be encountered.

Work will take place in an industrial environment, with noise, dust, and fumes.

The noise level in the work environment can be moderate at times.

Work Hours :

Monday through Friday, 40-hour work week, Saturdays, and overtime required as needed.
