This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer in the United States .

This role provides an opportunity to design, build, and maintain scalable, cloud-based software solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will lead the development of SaaS applications, guiding both the architecture and technical implementation while mentoring other engineers. The position involves full-stack development, cloud technologies, API integration, and continuous improvement of systems to optimize performance and reliability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product, QA, and customer-facing departments to ensure timely, high-quality delivery. Ideal candidates are proactive problem-solvers with experience in modern software engineering practices, cloud platforms, and secure, compliant application development. This role supports remote work, offering flexibility while contributing to mission-critical solutions that impact healthcare and clinical research operations.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of large-scale SaaS and mobile applications in cloud environments.
  • Apply Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies to ensure efficient project execution and delivery.
  • Collaborate with product, QA, and customer teams to produce secure, reliable, and scalable solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide mentorship, and guide technical decision-making for team members.
  • Implement best practices for source control, automated testing, and deployment pipelines.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to enhance software quality and performance.
  • Address complex technical challenges, provide solutions, and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Continuously optimize application architecture, lifecycle, and technical stack to minimize technical debt.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of software development experience, including backend systems, infrastructure, databases, APIs, and test-driven development.
  • Strong knowledge of PHP, SQL, MySQL, React, React Native, JavaScript, API development, Shell Scripting, GitHub, AWS (IaaS / PaaS), and Nginx.
  • Experience in cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and building large-scale SaaS applications.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA / HITECH / HITRUST / PHI / PII and PCI DSS compliance standards.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across distributed teams.
  • Experience in clinical research or healthcare technology preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Preferred : knowledge of Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, OData, web security, SAML, OAuth2, OWASP, and MVC frameworks.
