Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mergers & Acquisitions specialist to join our Finance team. This role will focus on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and other complex accounting projects. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in M&A from initial financial due diligence, and technical accounting matters such as non-controlling interests, joint ventures, equity method investments, and other acquisition-related topics, leading the integration of financial operations post-transaction. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with executive leadership, cross-functional teams and external partners. The individual will join the Technical Accounting team and is ideal for someone who transferred from audit to financial diligence.
Responsibilities
- Hybrid : 2–3 days onsite / week with flexibility for ad hoc executive-level in-person meetings.
- Lead the finance and accounting workstream for M&A transactions, including financial due diligence and purchase price allocation through post-acquisition integration.
- Conduct analysis with the support of the technical accounting team on complex issues (e.g., non-controlling interests, equity method investments) and assess impact on the company's financial statements.
- Coordinate with third parties for financial due diligence as part of deal review teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, legal, treasury, tax and corporate development teams. Enhance the M&A playbook and other accounting models related to business combinations, asset acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Support external audit processes and ensure US GAAP compliance and adherence to internal policies, including working with valuation experts on asset and liability fair value.
- Partner with IT and finance transformation teams to coordinate integration of acquired entities into corporate financial systems and close processes.
- Monitor M&A guidance, regulatory updates, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and educate internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.Active CPA license strongly preferred.3–4 years of post-college experience, including Big 4 public accounting.Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, particularly in business combinations and investment accounting.Experience in financial due diligence and M&A transactions, including post-close integration.Exposure to global transactions (cross-border M&A, foreign currency considerations, international standards) and willingness to travel (project dependent).Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365; experience with ERP systems and financial consolidation tools; ERP integrations a strong plus.Excellent communication and project management skills; high ethical standards and confidentiality.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.Benefits
