As a SecurityCoordinator at a Wegmans store location you will be responsible forproviding a safe and secure store environment for customers andemployees.
Coordinators are the liaison between the Wegmans AssetProtection team company leaders and the employees within the store.
This position requires a selfmotivated independent individual whois taskoriented and will remain highly visible to buildrelationships within the store and provide incredible customerservice.
What will Ido
- Focus on people safety in ourstores and execute safety programs to create a positive shoppingexperience and a safe work environment.
- Partnerwith management to implement an Asset Protection strategy aimed atmaximizing sales while reducing shrink due to theft;
benchmarkindustry activity identify trends and analyzedata.
- Foster a collaborative and professionalrelationship with community organizations and emergency respondersto increase safety and security awareness andmeasures.
- Discreetly observe customers vendorsand employees to prevent loss; utilize a variety of resources toapprehend and process shoplifters.
- Coordinateand manage all ClosedCircuit Television systems and all life safetyand store security measure systems.
- Navigatesituations such as medical emergencies and fire alarms usingproblem solving and conflict managementskills.
- Respond to emergency situations andmake difficult decisions that affect the safety and wellbeing ofothers.
- Discreetly conduct investigations andsurveillances under the guidance of the Asset ProtectionManager
- Respond to emergency situations;provide ongoing support and guidance to both employees andcustomers.
RequiredQualifications
- PoliceOfficer / Deputy / Trooper experience working road patrol and / or UnitedStates Military Law Enforcement or Special Operationsexperience.
- Proven ability toproblem solve and effectively manageconflict.
- Ability to use good judgment and makedifficult decisions that affect the safety and wellbeing ofothers.
- Ability to maintain effectivecommunication and composure in a stressfulenvironment.
- Technical aptitude with advancedPC skills including proficiency with MSOffice
- Valid driverslicense
PreferredQualifications
- BachelorsDegree in Criminal Justice or relateddegree
- Military Security Loss Prevention orAsset Protection experience
- Emergency MedicalServices or First Responder experience
- Retailmanagement or related leadershipexperience
