Overview:

LABUR is supporting a client that is rapidly scaling an industrial services platform backed by leading private equity investors. With multiple acquisitions underway, the client is building a unified technology infrastructure to enable aggressive growth and operational excellence. As part of this engagement, the client is seeking a strategic, hands-on IT Director to lead the integration and management of technology across multiple acquired entities. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and project management skills, thrives in complex environments, and has experience navigating private equity-backed growth strategies.

Responsibilities:

Business Partner:
  • Success understanding business user and process requirements and identifying the appropriate IT solutions to meet user requirements across several criteria.
  • Act as the bridge between business needs and vendor capabilities.
Stakeholder Communication:
  • Translate technical issues into business language for executives and business users.
  • Provide visibility into IT risks, costs, and ROI.
  • Act as the “quarterback” ensuring all players (vendors, finance, ops) are aligned.
Vendor & Partner Management:
  • Ensure outsourced infrastructure and ERP providers deliver on SLAs.
  • Assist in negotiated contracts, act as lead in monitoring performance, and escalate issues.
Technology Roadmap & Alignment:
  • Define how IT supports growth targets (acquisitions, new sites, service expansion).
  • Prioritize investments in systems that drive efficiency and scalability.
  • Keep tech aligned with PE sponsor’s value-creation plan.
Data Governance & Reporting:
  • Ensure ERP and other systems produce reliable, timely data for management and investors.
  • Assist in Standardized KPIs across business units.
  • Oversee integrations between ERP, CRM, and financial systems.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management:
  • Own the company’s security posture even if execution is outsourced.
  • Implement policies, compliance frameworks, and incident response plans.
  • Educate leadership and staff on cyber hygiene.
Process Optimization & Change Management:
  • Help to Identify bottlenecks in workflows (e.g., order-to-cash, procurement).
  • Drive adoption of ERP features and digital tools.
  • Champion cultural change toward data-driven decision-making.
M&A Integration & Scalability:
  • Standardize IT playbooks for bolt-on acquisitions.
  • Quickly integrate acquired companies into ERP and infrastructure.
  • Ensure scalability without ballooning costs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, ideally in multi-entity or private equity-backed environments.
  • Extensive NetSuite experience required.
  • Proven success in IT integration during mergers and acquisitions.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with DoD rules and regulations a plus.
  • Exceptional project management and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and build structure from the ground up.

Compensation:

$150,000 per year - Dependent on fit and experience.
