Job Details
Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Controller to oversee and manage the full-cycle accounting operations for our client. As the Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, leading audits, and providing strategic insights into capital projects and business operations. This is an on-site, full-time position where you’ll work closely with senior leadership and departments to support ongoing financial growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
Lead and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors, preparing financial documents, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Provide financial analysis and strategic insights to support capital projects, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
Ensure proper internal controls and procedures are in place to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
Collaborate with other departments (sales, operations, and management) to help streamline processes and improve profitability.
Assist in the development of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans, working closely with senior leadership to align financial goals with business strategy.
Monitor and advise on key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to support decision-making.
Oversee tax filings and compliance, working with external accountants and legal advisors as needed.
Manage capital project accounting, including cost tracking, funding, and profitability analysis.
Assist with various ad hoc projects and special financial analyses as needed.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
7+ years of accounting experience with a strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
Proven experience leading audits and working with external auditors.
Demonstrated experience in capital project accounting and financial analysis.
Strong knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel (experience with ERP systems is a plus).
Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to leadership.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with both finance and non-finance team members.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience in the hospitality, entertainment, or leisure industries is a plus.
