Job description

Business Operations Specialist

Company:

The Boeing Company

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Business Operations Specialist (Level 4) to join our team in North Charleston, South Carolina on 1st shift.

Seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and results-driven Business Operations Director Analyst to join our cross-functional leadership team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development and integration of programs, plans, and processes that enable disciplined work, drive cost and deployment strategy, mitigate risk, and ensure delivery against long-range business objectives. You will partner with 787 executive leadership, management, suppliers, and internal organizations to translate complex situations, including analytics, into approved business cases, presentations, effective communication, and executable plans.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and integration of information management across organizations, change management, strategies, cost imperatives and deployment plans to meet multi-year business goals.

  • Deliver executive-ready presentations and decision materials; present recommendations to senior leadership and governance boards to obtain commitment and funding.

  • Prepare, validate and refine business cases and investment proposals by combining quantitative analysis, scenario modeling, and qualitative risk assessment.

  • Coordinate cross-functional review and alignment with Fulfillment, supply chain, manufacturing, program management, quality, engineering, and more to define scope and secure approvals.

  • Identify, quantify and prioritize risks and opportunities; develop and track mitigation plans and contingency actions.

  • Provide implementation direction for work, tracking commitments and ensuring downstream teams understand deliverables, timelines and acceptance criteria.

  • Establish and maintain management system data flows: collect, validate and report status of programs, customer/supplier commitments and compliance metrics.

  • Drive issue resolution to closure — escalate when appropriate and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into process improvements.

  • Mentor and coach less-experienced analysts; lead or contribute to initiatives that raise team capability and analytical rigor.

  • Champion continuous improvement and standardization of tools, templates and processes across the organization.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.

Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, or a closely related discipline is required.

  • 10+ years' of progressive experience in business operations, program control, financial planning & analysis, sourcing strategy, or relevant related roles.

  • 5+ years' experience operating at a senior/senior-analyst or director-level capacity driving cross-functional decision-making and approvals.

  • 5+ years; demonstrated experience building and defending multi-year business cases, approval packages and governance-ready decision materials.

  • 5+ years experience collaborating with senior leaders and complex stakeholder networks (finance, PMO, sourcing, engineering, analytics, commercial) to drive alignment and execution.

  • 5+ years' hands-on experience in risk identification, scenario modeling, mitigation planning, and quantifying cost-to-complete and benefits realization.

  • 5+ years' experience in strong data analysis and modeling skills; to include Excel

  • 5+ years' business intelligence / visualization experience (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and familiarity with centralized program management systems.

  • Prior leadership/mentorship experience with a record of developing less-experienced staff.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication — ability to synthesize complex analyses into concise executive presentations.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS) preferred

  • PMP, PgMP, or similar program management certification.

  • Six Sigma/Lean certification (Green Belt or Black Belt).

  • Experience with SQL, Python, or other data tools for analysis is highly valued.
