ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Performs research design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow assembly methods and production equipment.
- Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
- Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new / revised products including establishing goals training team members and evaluating results.
- Create manning plans based on volume forecasts for new programs.
- Gives input to product design based on design for manufacture / design for assembly philosophy.
- Designs develops and tests and / or sources and cost-justifies various tools machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
- Performs product / process analysis for cost reduction quality improvement and improved efficiency.
- Develop and document quality system for new programs (control plan PFMEA process flow work instructions and inspection plans.)
- Coordinate and document all Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.
- Calculate required dunnage usage. Design test and order all necessary dunnage for new programs.
- Develop and maintain documentation such as downtime scrap and efficiencies.
- Utilize data such as downtime scrap efficiencies etc. to plan and strategize countermeasures for equipment and process problems.
- Leads or participates in Kaizen activities to ensure continuous improvement in processes products components raw materials and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelors degree in engineering or related field with Three (3) to five (5) years Engineering in automotive manufacturing industry is preferred. Might consider under 3 years of experience at a lesser salary as a Production Engineer level 1Must have CNC machining experience and prefer plastic injection mold as well as prefer automated high volume assembly experience.Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow layout assembly and production equipment.Problem analysis and problem resolution.Familiarity with current automotive standard and OSHA regulations.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills.Ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals.Must be proficient in MSWord Excel and PowerPoint. Some Access experience preferred.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Required to sit or stand and move about the lifting of items not to exceed 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Combination of office and plant be required to use safety glasses and wear steel toe shoes while performing specific tasks or while in specific manufacturing areas.
