Summary

The MRI Technologist II performs high-quality diagnostic MRI examinations in a safe and efficient manner while providing excellent patient care. This role requires developed technical knowledge and the ability to operate MRI equipment independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic MRI scans as directed by radiologists.
• Apply correct scan protocols to optimize image quality, minimize scan time, and reduce repeat procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of patient positioning and appropriate coil selection for each exam.
• Screen patients, families, and staff carefully for MRI contraindications, including pregnancy and implanted devices.
• Follow all MRI safety guidelines and maintain awareness of safety zones and magnetic field risks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions or technical issues.
• Comply with all Joint Commission (TJC), state, federal, and local regulatory requirements and departmental protocols.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
