You will focus on holistic patient care, incorporating emotional support and education alongside medical expertise to enhance patient well-being.\n\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS\n\nFormal Education / Training : \n
- Licensed by the State of Tennessee.\n
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from an accredited institution.\n
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire.\n
- Preferred : At least one year of perinatal experience.\n
- NRP certification to be obtained within six months of hire.\n
- ACLS certification or agreement to obtain within six months of hire.\n
- Able to function effectively in stressful situations.\n
- Must be able to return to work within 1 hour when on call.\n\nWorkplace Experience : Perinatal Healthcare Delivery\n\nEquipment and Skills Training : Proficiency in using standard patient care equipment and flexibility in applying nursing knowledge in diverse settings.\n\nPhysical Environment : Work in a fast-paced perinatal / OB-GYN unit, caring for patients ranging from infants to seniors.\n\nPhysical Effort : \n
- Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.\n
- Stand and work for up to twelve hours a day.\n
- Lift with assistance up to 250 lbs.\n\nPERFORMANCE STANDARDS\n
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for all patients upon admission, utilizing information from patients, families, and healthcare teams.\n
- Develop individualized patient care plans based on identified needs and nursing diagnoses.\n
- Prepare for patient education, discharge, and post-discharge needs relevant to the patient demographics.\n
- Carry out treatments, procedures, and the use of equipment independently while adhering to all policies and competency assessments.\n
- Safely handle, prepare, and administer medications in accordance with hospital protocols.\n
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care.\n
- Continuously reassess patient conditions and adjust care plans as necessary.\n
- Accept charge responsibilities and delegate tasks based on patient needs and conditions.\n
- Foster a healing and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.\n
- Maintain qualifications and attend mandatory in-services and meetings.\n
- Demonstrate accountability for communications and assigned duties within the unit.\n
