Unleash Your Engineering Leadership Potential as Chief Engineer at JLL! Join JLL as a key engineering leader in the role of Chief Engineer, where you'll spearhead operations and guide an exceptional engineering team, with occasional travel to visit your direct reports at the Atlanta site! You'll oversee a talented team of three : one on-site at a prestigious 337,291 sq ft Class A office in Orlando, and two remote team members based in Atlanta, ensuring the seamless functioning of building systems with an unwavering focus on safety and efficiency.
This critical role requires on-site presence and unwavering dedication to maintaining safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations, with a focus on achieving our ambitious 100% system uptime goal. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving operational excellence and fostering a dynamic culture of continuous improvement.
Here is some of what you will do :
- Oversee comprehensive maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems including HVAC, boilers, pumps, valves, piping, and electrical equipment
- Develop and manage reliability-based maintenance programs incorporating preventive, predictive, and reactive procedures with optimal repair frequencies
- Monitor critical systems including refrigeration, water cooling, air conditioning, heating, and ventilating equipment while reviewing logs for proper operation
- Lead and develop the engineering team through recruitment, training, coaching, and organizing technical, safety, and operational training programs
- Provide hands-on instruction and support to enhance staff capabilities in tools usage, maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques
- Create and manage engineering budget while contributing to overall operating budget and strategic capital improvement planning
- Oversee procurement and inventory management including purchase orders, stock materials sourcing, and maintaining adequate tools and supplies
- Maintain strong client relationships through active participation in property team communications and consistently exceeding client expectations
- Select, schedule, and supervise contractors while monitoring performance and coordinating all contractor activities within the building
- Ensure safety compliance by identifying hazards, implementing remediation measures, and managing comprehensive safety training programs
- Maintain regulatory compliance with all building infrastructure laws, documentation requirements, and Critical Work Authorization processes
- Provide emergency response support including swift response to service calls and participation in after-hours on-call rotation

Required
A high school diploma or GED7+ years of related experience as a Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, or a similar role3+ years of proven maintenance management experience, including people managementUniversal CFC / EPAA valid Operating Engineer's license (SMA) or equivalentProficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and CMMS systemsThe ability to lift up to 50 lbs., comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall, and capability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and / or drivePreferred
A working knowledge of Corrigo and Trane Tracer Summit platformsTrade school completion, union training, military service, or college educationComprehensive knowledge of advanced maintenance processes and construction planningDemonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skillsProven track record of delivering exceptional internal and external customer service, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skillsPay : $43.27-50.49 hourly
Schedule : 7 am-4 pm (flexible) Monday through Friday, with on-call rotation
