As a Legal Support Assistant, you'll handle a variety of specialized, entry-level clerical support duties. You'll be responsible for preparing cases for assignment, processing general administrative and court related tasks, and providing statutory notifications. You'll also research case information from databases, communicate essential criminal justice information to victims, and distribute mail.

We require :

Works with a team to support crime victimsDevelops and maintains positive and productive working relationships with co-workers, advocates, prosecutors, leadership and crime victims using principles of good customer servicePrepares cases for assignment, reviews and generates corresponding case-related documentsRetrieves and distributes database remindersReview and interpret court documents such as minute entries / court ordersGenerates notifications as required by Victims' Rights statutesResponsible for handling division incoming calls, using multi-line telephone- answering general questions, routing calls and taking detailed messages and returning calls.Responsible for coverage of main reception deskPerforms statistical data collection and tracking of informationOrganizes and prioritizes tasks effectivelyEnters and retrieves case information from various databasesResearches case related information by reviewing police reports, case forms and court documentsResponds to victim inquiries in coordination with Victim Services staffPrepares, processes and uploads Post-Conviction forms into the databaseProcesses and documents Victim Information FormsAssists with redactionOperates letter folding machineAssembles packets to be mailedAssists with reviewing and distribution of incoming mailProcesses Victim Compensation Delinquency for claims and applicationsEnters applications in a specialized data system and creates / assigns Victim Compensation casesAttends and sets up for monthly Victim Compensation Board meetings and record decisionsMaintains compliance with the Victim Compensation Program rulesPrepares Victim Compensation Board minutes and updates / posts Public NoticeComplies with grant requirements and meets programmatic deadlinesWork in the presence of or with a trained canine that comforts victimsWorking conditions :
Valid Arizona driver's license upon hireThe Maricopa County Attorney's Office requires a thorough background check of all successful candidates and is authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed drugs.
