MRI Department Supervisor

As an MRI Department Supervisor, you will work under the guidance of the Diagnostic Radiology Manager and / or Chief Technologist, performing essential duties that enhance patient care. This includes both direct and indirect patient care activities, ensuring comprehensive support for patients and their families in various MRI settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine interviews and patient screenings to gather vital patient data that assists with the assessment and planning for imaging exams.
• Collaborate with the care team to prepare patients for radiology procedures, demonstrating a thorough understanding of exams to streamline patient flow.
• Locate and manage patient records effectively, ensuring all important data is entered accurately while respecting patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Manage patient flow within the unit by organizing responsibilities and maintaining clear communication with patients, families, and staff to meet departmental goals effectively.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, supporting the Diagnostic Imaging section's operational efficiency.
• Stay clinically competent by participating in training sessions and completing required continuing education courses.
• Ensure timely ordering and restocking of imaging and patient care supplies to maintain smooth operational services.
• Enhance the patient experience by achieving satisfaction scores set by the department, fostering a friendly and courteous interaction with every patient.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

A high school diploma is required. Completion of a certified nurse aide program, patient care training program, or current enrollment in an accredited radiology program is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and computer applications is advantageous.

EXPERIENCE

1-2 years of relevant patient care experience is preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Proficient in computer applications with strong organizational and communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

Able to lift at least 40 pounds and perform tasks requiring physical endurance and dexterity, using proper body mechanics consistently.
