Job description

Solid Waste Services Manager

Duties include maintaining a safe and compliant workplace while focusing on minimizing injuries and property damage; analyzing safety trends and enforcing policies; delivering training; investigating incidents and complaints; debris management plan administration; vehicle safety inspections; and ensuring compliance with safety protocols while fostering continuous improvements in safety practices across the organization and its operations. A class B CDL is required. Preferred certifications include Smith Training Instructor, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), DOT Workzone Instructor, and CPR Instructor certification or ability to obtain within six months from start date. Duties will require lifting up to 50 pounds frequently. A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in industrial hygiene, business administration or a related field and two years of experience in safety administration with a proven track record of improving workplace safety and reducing incidents required. Must be proficient with MS Excel, Access, Outlook and Word. A rsum must be submitted with application.

PAY GRADE GG 22 / FULL PAY RANGE $5,550 - $7,821 PER MONTH

The mission of the Solid Waste Services Department is to provide exceptional service that is both economically and environmentally responsible and meets the needs of our citizens and exceeds all regulatory standards. The department is responsible for solid waste collection and disposal services, including residential, recycling, brush and bulky waste, and special waste collection.
